Indonesia’s Trade Minister Mari Pangestu said ASEAN members would discuss non-tariff trade regulation following the success in reaching an agreement to implement a zero percent tariff on trade.
In order to that, Mari said it was expected that each country could draft transparent trade regulations as the entry point to reaching the non-tariff agreement among countries in region.
“Each country should have clear trade regulations, such as regulations on labeling and product standards,” she said, as quoted by kompas.com on Sunday.
She said ASEAN did not have a collective database on each country’s regulations.
“To date, Indonesia has the most complete information,” she said.
